Some Tough Love for your Sunday Morning

There's a great misconception many people have been led to believe about food.

One by design created to keep you hooked and running to the rhythm of the industry...

And one which has led many otherwise healthy individuals, friends and family members into a dark abyss of obesity, diabetes, ignorance and helplessness.


You see, our feelings towards food are skewed. We have been "programmed" to judge, purchase and eat food practically solely based on taste. Not nutrition. Not health. Not quality.


Since you were a little kid, you've been conditioned to attribute sweetness, to tastiness, making you judge food via its sugar content, not its nutritional value. And it's what most people nowadays judge as "tasty".  


Now sure, It isn't exactly rocket science to figure that part out. But knowing, understanding and acting upon any given information, are 3 completely different things...

And most stop either at knowing, or understanding but lack the self-discipline and willingness to start acting.


Food is fuel, "taste" is secondary and eating solely for sugary sweetness is a weak person's game. Are you weak? Do you let emotions, desires and bad habits get in the way of your health and progress? Because I can say many do...


In fact, I'd go so far as to say that nowadays, the majority of people are using current world "events" as an excuse to double down on said feelings and habits, and shove what is essentially low quality sugar into their mouths in an attempt to feed themselves...


Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if after this whole pestilence was over the rate of obesity would reach its highest point yet. With all the gyms and recreation centers currently either closed or only partially open with occupancy capped, folks sitting on their behinds all day, microwaving Ramen Noodles because they were never taught how to cook. Bored to the point of pouring alcohol down their throat, and expecting to be amused.


Most people are a mess and they know it. If you let a pestilence rule over your life, and make "inaction" be your daily action, then you're part of that group of people...

But you don't have to be. Because unlike most you have the opportunity to change - to take things into your own hands, and through meticulous, daily action become leaner, stronger and happier while learning how to cook new recipes, and craft food that is fuel first, taste second, but skimps on neither...


I doubt you'll take it up. But then again, you don't need my approval, nor opinion, nor anyone else's for that matter to do it. But if and when you're willing to spend at least 30 days of your life learning how to eat from the ground up, essentially re-programming yourself, your taste buds, and your habits - to focus on eating nutritious, quality and actually good tasting foods, so that you come out of this pestilence not only NOT with a rounder belly, but with a new cooking skill set, more refined taste, and an actual purpose in food - to Fuel you, your life and your dreams?
